General Info:
The location and the Village

---

Mui Ne is a fishermans village in the southeast of Vietnam a few hours driving from Saigon the Capital of Vietnam. Phan Thiet is the biggest city near Mui Ne at 20km more south.




The seasons and Hotel info

---

The touristic part of Mui Ne is not the actual Mui Ne village. The village lies a few kilometers north. The touristic part is full of big Resorts, Hotels and Restaurants. Only the people who work in the tourism live more close to the dunes. There is one big road through Mui Ne, where ever you sleep you are always located within one minute from the beach by foot.

The high season is when the wind begins to pick up. It starts in January and goes on till the end of March. The prices variate between 5 dollars per night till 50 or higher if you want.




Possibilities besides kiting

Vietnam is a beautifull country with a beautifull religion. It offers a lot of Temples to visit. Besides Temples there are a lot of Animal restaurants in Phan Thiet where you can eat Snakes, Pullets, Insects etc. If you want to grab a beer at night there are many options in the touristic part of Mui Ne.
If you need some relaxation, there are many options to take any massage you want.



Climate

The water and air temperature are both very comfortable at around 28C. At night it can be warm, spending some extra money on a room with air conditioning is a good idea.



Spot conditions:
The beach

---

The beach is a long 7km streched (kind of) bay. Downwind of Mui Ne are some rocks near the beach, so watch out if you make a downwinder. The sea in front of Mui Ne is deep without obstacles. There are no shells on the beach or other dirt (sometimes some things come to shore which are thrown into sea more downwind at Phan Thiet). The beach is big, even with high tide its no problem to launch your kite.



The water conditions

The water is not cristal clear but the beach itself has white sand which is very nice. Most of the time there is a shorebreak that can be a littlebit difficult for beginners. For nice waves you really need a swell. There is almost no current.



The wind conditions

---

The wind blows a bit over the land where the origin village is located. That's why the wind can be a littlebit gusty sometimes. The wind is side-shore from the left and is most of the time 5bft+. The wind is a bit thermical so its always more than on the forecasts. There is no specific time for the wind to start blowing.



Facilities

---

There are a lot of schools that have toilets, showers and beachboys. There are jetski's for rescue. The beachboys are really great and very helpfull. If you need a littlebit more attention they walk downwind with you till you come on shore and walk back helping you carrying anything you don't want to carry yourself.
The spot is never to crowded, because the bay is so big there is always a spot where you can go crazy.
If you are tired, take a break and go eat something in one of the many restaurants near the beach, if you have no money, just put it on the bill and pay it later.


Downwinder and trip possibilites

---

There is a possibility to make a downwinder to the city Phan Thiet and because the money in Vietnam is from some kind of plastic you can just carry some money for a cab in you boardshort and take a cab back to Mui Ne after a refreshing drink. The downwinders are great, some nice but little waves, different spots, boats, fishingnets in the water, rocks, (some skills needed).

There are also different options for nice spots in the area, like Phu Qui (the island), Malibu beach and a military base a few hours further north.
