General Info: The location and the Village
Sharm el-Sheikh, is a city situated on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, in South Sinai Governorate, Egypt, on the coastal strip between the Red Sea and Mount Sinai. Sharm el-Sheikh is the administrative hub of Egypt's South Sinai Governorate which includes the smaller coastal towns of Dahab and Nuweiba as well as the mountainous interior, Saint Catherine's Monastery and Mount Sinai.
Sharm el-Sheikh is known as The City of Peace referring to the large number of international peace conferences that have been held there.

Climate
Average temperatures during the winter months (November to March) range from 15 to 35 degrees Celsius and during the summer months (April to October) from 20 to 45 degrees Celsius (68-113°F). The temperature of the Red Sea in this region ranges from 21 to 28 degrees Celsius (70-84°F) over the course of the year.
Spot conditions: The beach
The sandy beach is medium sized. It is not very crowded and there is available help for launching and landing.
The water conditions
Because of the reef the water is kept flat. The water is crystal clear and the temperature is is warm with an avarge of 25°C. Outside the reef you will find some small waves.
The wind conditions
The wind in Sherm El Sheikh is thermic and blows almost all year. The best direction is NE-NW, also the main direction of the wind. The best months are March to October.

Downwinder and trip possibilites
A short distance to the North of the centre, accessible from land or by riding upwind is a bay with waves rolling in to a shore break. Maybe not a real wave spot, but very different from what you are use to see in Egypt, and a nice playground for the advanced rider.
