Climate
The climate on Gotland differs from the mainland. In Gotland the temperatures are warmer and there are more sun hours. The winds are often coming from southwest, bringing mild Atlantic air.
The air temperatures average in summer 20 – 28°C and water temperatures of 16 – 22°C. In the winter air temperatures anywhere between 7°C and –7°C.
Spot conditions: The beach
This is private land and the owner keeps cows there. But the spot is medium big with good launching areas. Always close the gate because of the cows. No driving outside the dirt road is allowed. It's not a beach but still it has a few other visitors every day in the summer so keep it clean and don't spread your gear all over the place.
The water conditions
There is a shallow, flat water part for beginners. A littlebit further are some small waves. The bottom is sandy with some seaweed further out and some spread out big rocks in the water on the north and east side of the bay.
The wind conditions
The best wind direction is Southwest, but south or west is also ridable. The wind is depending on the weather systems in Europe (so no trades or thermic winds). The best months for wind are April-Ocotober (except for july, this month is not so windy).
Facilities
There is no school or centre, only a farm. There is a surf shop in Visby and one in Tofta.
