Advance kite leaving foils behind?

Last Saturday the Sunset Race in Ancona took place. A 4 mile loop and 15 knots wind. Loads of foils and one Advance Kaiman 15 meter. You would think the many foils would win this race having lots of grund lowend. Surprisingly the Kaiman won:
